I hadn't thought about the plane speed when hit. I'll try to fix that so the plane slows and loses altitude before going into free fall.
Actually the bullets aren't hitting the sky. They explode at max range like flak. I don't know if Bofors guns shot flak but I like the effect, even if it's not historically accurate.
