Hi

I bought Fragmotion some months ago, it's really-really cool, but I have several problems with exporting to 3D Gamestudio.

I put a post at Fragmotion forum about it, but if you experience issues too, please tell me, I will add them, or post it at Fragmotion forum Bug Report section in my thread. (I have the same nick there)

thanks.

I would advice you to export to Milkshape MS3D. From Milkshape export to Milkshape 3D Ascii. I know its some (extra) work, but i always had good results with this way.

Problems solved with 3d ascii format:
() Wrong texturemapping
() Bone sizes
() Vertices ( ive noticed sometimes vertices are wrong in some animations )
( here u see what i meant with vertices http://www.opserver.de/ubb7/ubbthreads.p...true#Post404324 )

greets

thanks, I know and use this path, fortunately I also have Milkshape laugh but would be much easier to have a working exporter for my money.

That is very true. Even in MS3D ascii some vertices are "strange".

you could learn Blender ?
Once you know how to use it , it is so easy and powerfull.
Export to FBX will solve your problems also.

no, Blender is for crazy people grin I could definitely never learn its gui. or differently saying, I would need infinite time to learn it laugh but it is probably my fault... I know Blender is free, but Fragmotion is not expensive at all.

Fragmotion is very flexibe and logical, with a simple and clear gui, similarly to Milkshape, and at the moment perfect for character creation with .bvh mocap files, very easy to manage animations even by simple Lua scripts or by visual tweakings.
and I can get a lot of placeholder resources by game modding tools supporting usually Milkshape ms3d which is not supported by Blender, and I can learn more from discovering real game resources than doing thousands of tutorials. 3dsmax woud be fine but it is too expensive to get legally.
moreover, Fragmotion works smoothly with Esenthel engine too, and probybly with UDK.

Ultimate Unwrap 3D is another tool I would badly need, because it is very effective in skinning, just try the demo!

okay thanks I will make a trial once again with Blender.

for the first look, it is much more complicated to do the same in Blender than in Fragmotion, there are too many options to be set, and they are organized into a misterious menu system.

Not only Fragmotion is much easier than Blender it is even more suited for a game programmer , at least at an hobbyest level
Fragmotion and Milkshape have been designed having games in mind while Blender (Max Cinema 4d maya etc) target the movie market segment
They are absolutely redundant for our application
A game developer can exploit lets say 10 % of their power
It is shame that these low cost game oriented software are not much supported by the game developer comunity (MilkShape is dead)

sivan, i do blender tutoring for game design art if your remotely interested. you'd be surprised at how easy it is to learn when you have someone showing you hands on how to do it whom you can ask questions and whatnot.

@Albert blender is in no way intended to not be used by game designers. there is a reason they included a game engine in it. the more tools you know how to use in it, will greatly impact the speed and effectiveness of your modeling
