A new FXCM plugin is available:

This plugin is supposed to overcome the two problems mentioned under "what's new" - the wrong balance value in the info window, and the problem that opened trades were sometimes not recognized by Zorro.

Please just download and copy the DLL into the Plugin folder. You have to restart Zorro afterwards. Please report here when you have any problem with this plugin.

It run great until today. But, today I started seeing different values for account balance between two instances that I run on the same account. Restart didn't help.

Does the equity change with the trade profit, or does it stay at its initial value and only changes once per week?

It changes all the time, but starting today the values in 2 windows diverge as shown in the screenshots.

Previously (last 2 weeks, since I installed the new dll) they were in sync between 2 windows. +- $1.

Hm, just got an idea what probably happened. Until today I had opened positions in both Z1fx & Z2fx. Today Z1fx closed the last position and it probably stopped updating the balance (equity) indicator. Then I restarted it, and it was in sync for the moment, but as soon as the Z2fx positions changed the equity, they desynchronized again, as the window with Z1fx didn't update anymore, and the window with Z2fx running did. I don't know if that's to be considered a bug.

Yes, the equity is updated only when trades are open.

I admit that this behavior may be confusing, so we'll change that in the next version. The displayed equity value will then be permanently updated.

It looks like this has been fixed in 1.10beta, too. Thanks. Much more sane now, looking at two Zorro windows and seeing the same numbers.

You might want to update the documentation, though. I've seen somewhere that the displayed value is "account balance", but it should be "account equity" instead.

It _has_ been fixed, but the difference that you see has a simple reason.

Zorro now updates the account equity at every bar, even when no trades are open. However, inside a bar the equity is calculated from the profit of the open trades. Downloading the equity at every tick would noticably increase the traffic.

So when you have two trading Zorros on the same account, their contribution to the equity is different and thus they can show different equity values. The Zorro that has the larger open profit also displays the higher equity. But they stay in sync, as the equity is updated once per bar.

Balance = Balance on the account
Equity = Balance + open profit of the Zorro instance.

That's why the green Zorro above shows higher equity than the red Zorro, as it had more profit during the current bar. This will be mentioned more clearly in the manual.
