Hi, does anyone know good resources for hand models with weapons like guns or swords for free or for purchase? I am aware of a recent sci-fi hand + gun model by Dexsoft, but I was wondering if anyone knew where to get more contemporary/modern styled hand models and weapons. Thanks in advance!

Haha I thought the same before 1-2 years. Go to http://css.gamebanana.com/skins and convert the skins from .mdl (source mdl, not useable for 3DGS) to smd. Then import it to 3ds max and save as fbx, then import in med and profit!

Thanks PadMalcom! I remember having trouble converting their models before but I will try your tutorial out! Also ChaosCoder, wouldn't CS:S model/skins be copyrighted? EDIT: PadMalcom, any idea why FragMotion seems to read the .x animations wrong? Ie: the construct model looks great but once animation starts, the model gets a little (or a lot) deformed. EDIT2: Seems like I have to adjust the scaling on some of the bones as they get wrongly adjusted on animation start. Any idea how to prevent the bones from getting scaled? Apologies if my description doesn't make too much sense; I am not too skilled at modeling.

@Sivan Yes, Ultimate Unwrap 3D works sometimes to read the animation correctly. It's unfortunate this format seems so diverse that no one converter can parse it correctly!
@ChaosCoder If I understand correctly, the skins on that website are simply re-skinnings of the original hand or gun models from the game itself produced by Valve. In a commercial application, even a mention would not be legal without Valve's permission.
@PadMalcom Some of their models seem to work and others do not. Perhaps they were not all cleanly made or had a problem in export.

Valve wont do something like this, not even in 1000 years. Actually Valve doing a lot of better stuff, than those CS:S skins If somethign is used from valve you will see it in the credits list... They always say, that hands model is the default one, from the CS:S, so Valve has it's part on those models. Anyway you are not able to use this models for commercial, and maybe even for free! Cause using them out of the CS:S is illegal. Greets
