I've been playing around with the adviseLong function in pattern mode in workshop 7.

If I set the rules flag, training trains the rules with minimal time based stops looking for a general sense whether the pattern leads to profits after x time.

I would then like to use the rules created to optimize parameters such as stops or trails for the adviseLong functions but not by rerunning the rule finding optimization again.

Is it possible to optimize non-rules based parameters while maintaining a previously optimized set of rules. I've tried commenting out the rules flag, but without the rules flag adviselong gives an error.

The idea is indeed to optimize the rules first, then reset the RULES flag and optimize the parameters. But this is not yet implemented, so at the moment you can not optimize parameters after rules, only the other way around. I've put that on my list to implement.
