Ok, I have to address 2 points.
Point 1: The X-Box is more powerful than the GC
False: There is a reason why RE4 is only on the GC (As a test, pick a comparable game for the x-box and compare it to RE4, take an rpg from the ps2 and compare it with FF: Crystal Chronicles), the GC has the most Powerful graphics chipset of all the consoles out there. The X-Box, while powerful yes (It has more power than the PS2), doesn't have all the functionality of the ATI chipset that the GC is using. Also, of note, the X-Box 2 (If I remember correctly) will no longer be using the nVidia Chipset and is switching to the ATI chipset.
Point 2: The GC Freezes all the time and has not HDD
Now, the HDD, yes it is lacking, but personally, on the gamecube, I don't see the need (Although it would be a nice perk ). Also, as to the freezing... I have owned 2 gamecubes, and a lot of my friends own gc's as well, and well, the only ones we have ever seen freeze have been the ones which are not treated well. We actually put my friends brand new x-box against my gc in an ironman test, and the gamecube outlasted the x-box by 15 hours before the gc started freezing (The x-box started freezing after 7 hours... we had a gaming weekend lol... gc, ps2, x-box, pc's, etc...).
The biggest problem with the GC is that, while the x-box and ps2 went after the more "mature" audience, the gc went after a younger audience in their games. Because of this, they do not use the full potential of the hardware (Which is evident in RE4 .. the potential that is).
And one last thing to address on the console fanboys issue : http://ctrlaltdel-online.com/?t=archives&date=2005-02-05
Anyways, to swing back on topic, the initial thread that was reccommended that you check out is the thing you are after... but to summarize it; unless you have lots of $$$ and Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, etc... really wants your game, it isn't really feasable because of the amount of manpower and funds required to do such a thing.
Regards,
Ayrus

Strangely enough, my Gamecube didn't freeze ever. Seems to me like you just didn't place it according to the instructions
Besides, the Gamecube is really powerful. And the mainreason for it are the games, which are really great. Oh, yeah, it's true, you can't play the thousand GTA on it. Who cares? Get it for PC, it's better there anyway. Or just don't buy it. New features are rare, or not?. New town. Nice. Two new vehicles. Not bad. Oh, and the missions are also different. Slightly, at least. ... Do I really have to buy that one? Nope.
X-Boxs title? Halo. Oh, right. Grumpy Gamer once called it "Hyplo". That was not only funny but true... Oh, and it's also out for PC. Isnt it better there, too? Don't remember that one, though. What other (good) games are out for it? And I mean REALLY good titles. Keep also in mind, "good" does not mean "good commercial" (go sony ) or "much blood".
Gamecube has no HDD? Correct. That's one point for the XBox - but, well, it's more expensive, so it should have ANY advantages. Another great thing about the HDD is: You can download Patches for buggy games. I believe there was at least once the need for a patch... Unreal Championship? Whatever it was called.
Theres only one console which can play the Zelda-titles. Which are awesome Wind Waker is fantastic. Then there's Metroid Prime. And it's successor, Metroid Prime 2. Both are superb. I loved them. And then there are new, innovative titles - only on gamecube, keep that in mind. Pikmin, for example. Anyone played Wario Ware? Funny game, and made by nintendo... and it doesn't even stop there. Mario sunshine, paper mario... It's hard to find bad games made by nintendo
Of course, that's just the way I see it. It's similar to Torque vs Gamestudio - Every console has it's advantages. For me, Nintendo's consoles are the best, (some) reasons mentioned above. Everyone has to decides that himself. Nintendo made many mistakes, sure, but it's strongest fault is marketing. It's terrible. I can't stand it's commercials... And sadly enough, that's a very important thing nowadays... and in my opinion, thats the reason why many didn't buy a gamecube.
Perhaps this post will get me points for originality at least.
Check out Dungeon Deities! It's amazing and will make you happy, successful and almost certainly more attractive! It might be true!

GameCube IS an good console! Besides GC is the most played console even though there are not so many people who own GC. All of the X-box and PS2 owners don't play so much so GC wins! XD
( facts from www.tilt.tv > the news section. But if you don't know how to read finnish don't visit this site xP )
EDIT: And the new Zelda is coming!!!

Yes,
I agree that the GC is a good console, however, your wrong when you say it's the most played console. That's just a lie right there. Next time you get a chance, and if you can find out the numbers then you will see the sales comparing each console: PS2, XBOX, and GameCube
GameCube, as cheap as it was sold, still doesn't near the total of sold systems as the other two. So I must say I disagree with whoever says GC is the most played console out there. Although, don't get me wrong, it's a great powerful console and shouldn't be put down by people who have not had the chance to even play one.
The few things that might now attract people to that console are: -Price -Controllers -Games Available -Etc.
Yes, price is a big factor I think. I think while it was shown to be cheaper than the other 2 leading consoles, everyone rated the GC before trying it just thinking it was sold cheaper because it wasn't as good. Which of course is not true, but this is how many people reacted towards it and you could ask others (as I have asked people around here the same thing).
Controllers also detracted some buyers as for them, just looking at them made them want to stick with the controllers they were use to; like the PS2 controllers for the most part. They like them simple and ready to play, not something you have to learn all over again. GRANTED, XBOX's controllers were somewhat complicated, but their commercials and sleak console design attracted not only the childrens eye, but mens and womens as well.
For the most part, the GameCube didn't attract many people with their boring commercials or their games they put out for it. XBOX and PS2 both had MULTIPLE extrodinary games out for their consoles and also helped out their sales a lot.

I did NOT mean the sales. I mean't how much the consoles were played. So the conclusion is that GC owners play more than the PS2 or X-box users. That way GC is the most played console, thanks to the loyal Nintendo fans. "You show PlayStation to friends... But with Nintendo you play!"

Wow, this is what I call offtopic... . The thread was about converting 3dgs games to ps2 or xbox and now it is about which console is the best. But, I join you . I have searched for some salefigures, I haven't found official ones, but I did find this forumthread At the bottom you can find the salefigures till 2005. You can see that the ps2 is the winner with 81 million. Xbox and Gamecube have done a little less , with 19,9 (xbox) and 18 million (gamecube). Greetz, Sjoerd

Well I believe that Nintendo have always aimed their games at the younger audience. That's why I bought PS2 . I agree my brother has XBox and the graphics are mindblowing but the problem is, is the variation in games. It's like when Driver 3 first came out, which console was it only available for? In your minds, you should be thinking: PS2!!! I think Sony have done very well in keeping up with the line of consoles and you know what? It doesn't surprise me. Not even 1 byte . I don't know what it is deep down inside the PS2's motherboard or on the other side of it's fan expansion bay but Sony have always made me choose their hardware .
