Yes,
I agree that the GC is a good console, however, your wrong when you say it's the most played console. That's just a lie right there. Next time you get a chance, and if you can find out the numbers then you will see the sales comparing each console:
PS2, XBOX, and GameCube
GameCube, as cheap as it was sold, still doesn't near the total of sold systems as the other two. So I must say I disagree with whoever says GC is the most played console out there. Although, don't get me wrong, it's a great powerful console and shouldn't be put down by people who have not had the chance to even play one.
The few things that might now attract people to that console are:
-Price
-Controllers
-Games Available
-Etc.
Yes, price is a big factor I think. I think while it was shown to be cheaper than the other 2 leading consoles, everyone rated the GC before trying it just thinking it was sold cheaper because it wasn't as good. Which of course is not true, but this is how many people reacted towards it and you could ask others (as I have asked people around here the same thing).
Controllers also detracted some buyers as for them, just looking at them made them want to stick with the controllers they were use to; like the PS2 controllers for the most part. They like them simple and ready to play, not something you have to learn all over again. GRANTED, XBOX's controllers were somewhat complicated, but their commercials and sleak console design attracted not only the childrens eye, but mens and womens as well.
For the most part, the GameCube didn't attract many people with their boring commercials or their games they put out for it. XBOX and PS2 both had MULTIPLE extrodinary games out for their consoles and also helped out their sales a lot.
