why is my Media Player outdated???
i have Media Player 10 and all new Windows updates installed, but it takes no effect.

So you're getting that initial error on startup that your Windows Media Player is outdated, then it kicks you out? And you have Windows XP and Windows Media Player 10, correct?

Hmmm. Troubling. Could you please do me a favor and download this little game that will test your PCs compatibilty with 3DGS: Engine Tester .

This game will run through 3 test screens. Basic engine loading (DirctX and stuff), Audio playback, and then Video. Please let me know if you get to the "Audio" screen and "Video" screens. Do you actually hear the audio and see the video?

We'll get to the bottom of this.

The game is giving you this error because it's trying to play the intro title, but it can't for some reason. I'm not exactly sure why, but let's check two more things. Go to the Timez Attack directory and see if you can manually play the file it's trying to play. It should be in Program Files/Timez Attack Multiplied/data/Video/Media_SplashScreen1.wmv.

If you can play that just fine, then my only other guess right now is that the game hit some kind of glitch on installation. Uninstall it, then re-install it--and this time install it to a directory other than Program Files. If that still doesn't work, I'll have to sit and think about it a bit.
