Hello I bet that I may be way to late to get any help with the old A5 engine, however just in case someone may have remembered how the light shadow effect could be fixed.
every level I create has had this problem which I find no way in correcting, unless its the scripting of a new rendering of the lighting system.
When I render any lights after compiling, the lights leave rings of varing shades, till it reachesz the shadow :-(. How can I correct it so there smooth and are not stepped rings?
I hope that someone may still know about A5 .
I was once registered on here over 2 years ago, however since the policy changed in regards of non acceptance of those online email accounts, I was susequently deleated since I had a hotmail accoun t regitered in here at the time. I still have that account and its my main one since I don't own this internet account and so could not register with the isp email account. As the account is owned by my girlfriend and the isp only allows one email address which is referenced through her computer, leaving me with no real access to should anyone send me an answer to any questions would not be able to get them answed as soon as possible :-(
I eventually did attemp a couple of times to reregister and found that even our isp name was not accepted cause at the time the registration would only check the first part of an email address and not the last part.
I am happy to find that it finnally works now so its great that doug or someone at conitec had noticed and corrected the falt in that system, thanks Doug :-)
All I can say is that its great to be back on the sytem again, though 2 years too late at this stage however I am waiting till A7 eventually gets released in the futre :-) future
I hope someone can help, thanks, also doese anyone else still use A5? I am also on ICQ, MSN and Yahoo messengers aswell, thanks please reply as soon as posible thanks :-)

I think I know what you are referring to, and there are a few things that you could try... however the banding can have to do with a lot of factors. So that we could offer some viable solutions, what edition and version of A5 are you running (Found in WED under Help --> About), and your hardware specs as well.

What you might want to try is changing the texture scale to be something like 0.5 on the X and Y axis instead of 1. It should help to eliminate the banding. On a side note, I found my A5 Key disk, so I think I'll install A5 as well to play with Regards, Ayrus

It is worth it.. I own a copy of both, and well, I went from a5 standard to A6 Comm (Bought licenses for both), and it was well worth the $199 USD for the comm, and upgrading wouldn't be too bad at all either.
