This may be of some help - as I've had a few of those myself. Firstly, is/are the block/blocks part of a group? - If so, always scope to that group - run find block again. If it's (they) are a part of another group - follow the same procedure until you get down to the lowest possible configuration - ie., the blocks are NOT part of a group. Delete the offending blocks, scope up and rebuild. Alot of times that corrects the error.

Duplicate blocks, at least for me, exist alot of times because I can copying/duplicating blocks using shift-control - move. Sometimes I have forgotten that I have duplicated them, and, since using shift-control and move the duplicated blocks are sitting right "on top off" the others, is hard to tell. If the blocks I have chosen to duplicate are in a group - can be a real hastle.
