hey there,

i got a problem that is driving me crazy. i made an hourglass model with skin and animation. everything looks fine in med but when i load it in the engine the model is completely black...

here is the link:

skinsize is 128x128, it should work. if anybody can help thanks in advance!

The model is fine. Most likely you have script attached to it that possibly includes a non-functioning or non-supported shader.

Usually this is bcz of a shader, the model being black. I have downloaded and added your model to a map here and it is fully visible.

Yea everything appears fine in med in terms of compatibility so it's not a problem with MED. Must be a problem with WED then.

BTW, I thought an hourglass was like an eggtimer but I don't see the glass part? Oh and it has some skin stretching.

no i just load it into my level. doesnt matter if an action is attached or not. i have seperated the glass from the other part to make the glass transparent. what i did was, make and animate the whole model at once.

saving it into 2 different files so the animation is kept. (i erased the other part from of each from the original model) and texturing the two different models. i dont know why but the glas part can be textured and the animation is kept.

if i texture the model above i dont see anything in the engine but a black skin. i guess this must be a bug then ):

In the modles properties, make it inlit and set its ambient to 50, make it bright... try that.

that doesnt work either. can you load it into the engine right?

its always black for me ): maybe i should post in the bug hunt forum?

Hey Ulf what about a screenshot? An even better idea: A fresh reinstall of the software? This could help but make sure you delete any leftover files, should you have any.
