Well I'd suggest you do a basic movement tutorial first.

As a few pointers though your going to end up with two different "states" for your model. A standing state and a walking state.

Read the manual regarding the c_move and related functions and see how you progress.

For the sake of mods, I'd say this was more of a scripting forum question.
