I tried to use that effect in
material mywater
{
effect=" bla bla...";
}
and i assigned it to an action
action simple_water
{
my.material=mywater;
my.alpha=30;
}
and i get an error like that;
Error in effect:
mywater(2):unknown type in parameter declaration:'float 4x4'(12):syntax error
After this i tried to use in a fx file but i saw same problem again.

can anyone help with this??

float 4x4 is DX9 Code, you only have a DX8 version of Game studio. to use DX9 shaders, update to 3dgs 6.31/6.40 for free on the conitec site. you just need your password and the username you received when you bought a6.

afaik the code needs only ps/vs 1.1, so it will run on any dx8-hardware machine, though you need to have installed at least the DX9 pack from microsoft and at least 3dgs 6.31.
