LoL i do apologise for my n00b style question but for $199 to buy commercial A6 edition i need to be sure...

Just enjoying the process of learning A6 game studio using the trial version and have set myself the scary task of making a basic soccer pitch with single player model and a soccer ball to collide into and kick about against a flat wall.

I think I already know the answer to this, but is there anyway i can create a soccer ball without a physics engine? LoL! *Sigh* I'm guessing no, i'm also guessing $199 upgrade required.

Of course you can do this task WITHOUT a physics engine. Look at all those old FIFA Soccer titles (N64, PSOne) and so on, they didnt had a physicsengine, of course.

So you may ask yourself: am I able to write my own physics?

Sure, physics for a soccer game are enhancing the degree of realism but maybe you dont need it... you can also try the Newton physics engine, of course, so you dont have to pay 200$..

Not only can you create a soccer ball without using the physics engine, it is probably your best solution.

All versions of 3DGS have a collision engine (look up c_move, c_rotate in the manual). You can use these, plus some simple math in your scripts to make a very realistic soccer ball.
