Hello once again to all in the forums. I have a problem with shading: when I texture a model in MED with a solid color (from a .bmp file), it allows the model to have the appearance of depth and the ability to see certain facial features such as the nose. However, when I put the model in the WED, and then run the file, the shading is really flat and I can't tell any details of the face. If there is any way to correct this problem, I would really appreciate any kind of input. Also, if this is really unclear, please let me know if there are any more details needed.
Thanks alot.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I have already placed lights in the level. I'm sorry that I didn't think of mentioning that before, but I have tried multiple kinds of lights in the level, including dynamic lights, but the character is still looking 2D and seems to have no depth.

Unless I misunderstood you, this shouldn't have anything to do with shaders. To me, it sounds as if the materials sections of the manual was what you were looking for... I think there even is a chapter called "Lighting Engine" in the latest manual - you might want to look it up. Hope that helps

Thanks for the help. I will look up about the materials and then see if that helps out any.

It may help to set the models albedo plus having the Sun light turned on or at least one dynamic light having the model within its range:
- Models without an action need initially be set through the WED to a low albedo from -100 to +10.
- Models that are controlled by an action should, at least initially, in the action be assigned light= off, transparent= off, bright=off, unlit=on, and a low albedo between -100 to +10.
hope this helps, tindust
