First hi...
This forum is amasing.Much to learn...wonderfool:)

I download Obj2mdl tool(from Hiroyuki)yesterday.Great tool,thanks.

still... i have 1 problem:
i followed the instructions .Everything passed ok.
But when i import mdl in WED >BUILD >rUN GAME
the model became invisible in game(just 3-4 dots is visible).I build simple level without any script(for preview)
my preferences in wed are for video out "GXL2DX8.dll"

In MED my model is visible and have 2 skins :
first is 1024x512x32(argb)
second is 1024x512x24 - this texture have black "conture"
of first one.
Please help,what i`m doing wrong?

P.S. Is it possible to have "solid" model skin with transparent hair and lashes
in one texture.When i import (in wed) my model with tga-alpha ch. skin ,then build level>the whole model became transparent (i can se teeth,eyeballs...etc)
What is wrong?

I know EWWW I KNOW! Open the model in MED, go to Edit>Manage Skins. Now select the skin of your messed up model, hit Skin Settings and UNCHECK the box that says Material Setup.

Thanks man but i do not have "edit>manage skin..." or "skin settings" option in
this version of MED(6.171).Thanks anyway, u are first with replay on my post in this forum(I`ll remember that).By the way - is there any other solution?

i had this trouble useing tga files try useing .bmp instead

my "skin editor" isnt in the edit tab either. its in the file tab about nine down, but my version is something like 6.792

i`v got "skin editor" but there is nothing about material properties...

Let me explain the problem a little bit more:
Earlier (before i use obj2mdl) i have been mannaged to import(place in WED level) my model with transparent hair ends.I achive that with adding alpha tga skin to my model in MED.The result was the whole body became about 50% transpatent (visible),not just in places where i expected.
Structure that are inside in model(tongue,teeth,eyeballs) became visible.Very ugly.When i use normal tga without alpha channel, model is solid in WED level
but the hair looklike "helmet":)

I think the reason the model doesnt show up is the 2nd skin, especially if its a normal map tga. I had this problem several times when exporting models from Max that I had texture baked. It appears that the 2nd skin got used as a transparency layer, making my entire model almost completely transparent.

Try removing the 2nd skin to see if it resolves the issue.

If your trying to implement some transparencies in your skin, you have to set a z buffer variable. I can't remember the exact code at this moment, but im sure someone here can remind me

I think you should update to the latest 3d gamestudio version if you haven't already done this. (it's on the download part of the forum, check it out, it's at the top of this page.)

In case you did update already, you can find the material settings by going to edit -> manage skins -> skin settings.

The latest version has the material settings, unlike the ME D you seem to have atm. It also supports multiple skins, this is where you add 1 skin for the hair, a tga with alpha channel so it makes the hair transparent and one skin for the rest of the model. (for example). That should do the trick ...

Did you make sure you've unchecked the 'transparent' flag too by the way? A model half transparent sounds like the flag you can set in WED to me.
