Thank you for replying Nitro,

Please beware we cannot get a NEW level to run either.

A level with just a simple block and NO script will shutdown the Engine as well.

Harpo above posted the -diag info on it.

So its more then Scripting syntax errors here.

Our team version will not run ANY level period regardless of Scripting as i pointed out in my thread after we ran the techdemo we tried a new CLEAN level with NO scripting.
Before we upgraded we could run levels with simple blocks and do fly arounds now the engine just shuts down.

Ok, we have two different problems here:

1. After the update, the techdemo issues error messages.

The update updates the techdemo main script, but not its included scripts. We've included the complete techdemo scripts in the template update. Download and unzip the template update from our download page into your Gamestudio folder. It overwrites scripts in the template_6 folder and in the work folder.

2. I can not run my level without script.

The reason for this is unknown, as all other people obviously can run a level without script. You might contact the support about that, but a possible reason is that your level has no content. Try running an included level, like techdemo.wmb, without script: acknex.exe work\techdemo.wmb -diag. Check whether this works. If not, please let us know here and post the acklog.

Friday july 7th,
We downloaded the A6 templates agian as you asked and reinstalled them agian.

TECHDEMO: It appears the new script files did indeed get rid of the scripting errors, We now get this "Error E1307 <TERR-L1.hmp> bad hmp format" and it closes after clicking on ok.

I created a new level with just a house primative and a block as the entry.
I then built the level and ran the level, it shows the A6 engine window and closes after about 1 to 2 secs, no errors.
when i include the techdemo.wmb level in the run line it builds fine and when i run it i see the entry to the level, the inside of the building after about 2 seconds the A6 engine closes no error.
The engine for some reason just shuts down.

If i reinstall the trial version of A6 and then run our purchased key making the trial ""Game Studio Team Com 6.11.4 /WED V6.269".
I then run the techdemo i get the A6 engine logo and it runs fine.
i can also make a level with just a house primitive and a block and it runs fine also.

So here is a snynopsis.
1. We have the A6 Team comm version

2. Team comm version "Game Studio Team Com 6.11.4 /WED V6.269" runs great and will work with just a block as a level.

3. 6.40 has been released as an official upgrade (not beta)

4. when we properly upgrade the team comm version from "Game Studio Team Com 6.11.4 /WED V6.269" to ""Game Studio Team Com 6.40.5 / WED V6.731" the engine will no longer run any level without the engine shutting down.

5. Contacting support i have very little trust in as explained in my first post to this thread, first they said 6.40 upgrade does not work and that a TEAM version will be released then they decide it does work and dont inform us until we get tired of waiting a month and e-mail then agian, then they tell us that the patch works for all versions.
***we have sent off yet another support e-mail explaining everything in this thread as we did a month ago!***

Now my questions are simple.
Why can we run "Game Studio Team Com 6.11.4 /WED V6.269" without a problem?

why does 6.40 upgrade to ""Game Studio Team Com 6.40.5 / WED V6.731" cause OUR version to shut down the engine?

Can anyone validate that upgrading a team comm version to 6.40 works?

How do they generate the version keys? and is there a possible version compatablity issue from that?

Is there a human being i can speak to LIVE while in WED to prove everything we are doing is being done correctly, so some focus can be directed at the software and not the users.

Should i make a movie of the entire process for people to see with there own eyes.

Is there a person that i can give one of our keys to, to try and see if they can make a install work? (on loan only of course)

Please help us with these very important problems and i thank you in advance "jcl" "or anyone else" for your attention to this issues.

Yeap, that would be fixable, just get rid of the terr-li.hmp file, the tech demo runs fine without it. Go into the folder which contains the file and move the file to some other folder.Techdemo should run fine after.

I would like to know if your properly making the upgrade.

Thats actually a good idea. Use wink , and let us see the whole upgrade process and the attempt to run levels afterward.

Please do not "get rid" of your terrain. Just load and save it in MED, as mentioned in the 6.40 update instructions. Better don't download an update without having read the "Compatibility Notes" in the update instructions.

@Nitro: I suppose that you are only trying to be helpful. But asking other people for their key file is not helpful, but illegal. It can even lead to your banning from this forum. I have edited your post.

@Sanctioner: Thank you for the detailed problem description. However it should be common sense that sending copies of your key file to other people is illegal and can get you in serious trouble. If you think there's a problem with your key file, please send it to the support.

Since 6 weeks, you or someone else from your team is permanently posting about the same problem: not being able to start a certain WMB file. We've gotten many support emails and several threads in the Bug and the Ask Conitec section on this forum, always to the same issue. Possibly there is indeed something wrong with your version. But for finding this problem please follow the suggestions you've been given numerous times. The first obvious step is just running a different WMB file, like the future level from the tutorial, or the techdemo, and sending the acklog to the support. This could give us a hint whether the problem is related to your key file or to something else. You can also send us your house level for looking into, and your key file.

You've emailed the support again yesterday, so they are now taking over. Please follow their suggestions. I'm sure that we'll then sort out this problem very soon.

I'm closing this thread. But if anyone has another problem with the update, a new thread can be opened here or on the Template or Ask Conitec section.
