This is most likely caused from your texture not fully tilable. If you use the tile feature in GIMP (effects > map > tile) to double the image size and zoom in on the center, you'd likely see the same thing. If not, then it's something else such as the 1-quant inaccuracy of blocks. Models offer a good solution for this (along with tons of other big advantages).
