This may have been answered before, but I havent found any posts dealing with this topic. I have a fully boned and animated model which is above the Z axys line. How can I move the bones along with the Vertices without getting that retarded animation warping effect? Thanks

Hey Exile,
Maybe I misunderstand your question, but I assume that you are trying to move your model in Med. If this is the case, I have moved around models that are already animated with bones.
The way that I did this was to first move the model by selecting the model components in object selection mode. After I had the model in the correct place, I went into bone selection mode, and then tried to line up the bones as well as I could to the original model in comparison to the body. When I did this, I was able to move my model and its bones to a new position without any warping or having the animations get screwed up.
Of course, you can't be in Animation mode when you do the moving, or this won't work. Anyways, I hope this helps.

Still didn't work. It seems that the bones move, but the animations is all missaligned and contorted. I will make a video showing what I mean.

Ok, FRAPS officially sucks! it just keeps crashing. I am pretty sure that most of the users know what I'm talking about with my peoblem. However, because of the lack of responses (except you nray1s:)) I just assume that there is no fixing my problem.

Well I gave it a try and I got exactly the same problem - no solution however...

Mind you, it makes a nice sort of horror effect.

LOL, yeah it could be used for a horror game. It would fit perfectly in silent hill.

When you move a bone, all child bones, are moved to. So it looks like you are stretching the whole thing, when you adjust every bone's z-offset.

So... if you have e.g. three bones in a vertical chain and they are named A,B,C, A is the highest one, you move ONLY C to move all bones ABC on the Z Axis. If you move then B on the X Axis for instance, C remains, but A is moved accordingly on the X Axis.

I hope that helps and you got an image on how it works.

cheers
Christian
