We're updating the 'Goodies' archive on our CD-ROM, throwing out old and adding new stuff. If you want to offer a tool, plugin, artwork, or demo for Gamestudio, please let me know. Would the "benchmark tester" program I made using Gamestudio be considered anything? For putting on a CD-ROM, I'd need to make enhancements to it. It's currently on the download page of the main Gamestudio website.

I certainly would like to take the opportunity to submit the realtime lighting exploration tool DynaLights 1.0 for your consideration.

There are several Demonstration options available, all of which can be found
at the Secure Free Downloads Page.

1/ The "DynaLights 1.0 Demo Version" is a full featured version of the tool that runs only inside its own level, the "Testing Lab". Up to 8 dynamic lights can be created/removed and controlled at any one time in this version and the lighting of the level and its models can be explored while moving around the level.

2/ The "DynaLights 1.0 Trial Version" is a limited features free tool version that installs just like the full featured version. It can be used with any A6.314 and above project. This version is limited to creating one dynamic light at a time (in addition to the Sun), and the light data file cannot be saved as it can in the Full Version.

3/ Finally, there is also an "Example Level" available. This is a simple level (with one model) that has been set up to use the DynaLights tool. The Example Level requires a previously installed DynaLights Full or Trial Version for it to work as intended.

I would like to make enhancements to the benchmark tester to make it more worthy and give a greater in-depth analysis. Right now, it only tests a few things. What about texture sizes? How about the use of dynamic lights or using multiple skins? What effect do vertices have? These are the types of enhancements I'd like to make to it that allows for an in-depth analysis of the engine. The primary use is help optimizing model-only levels and get a feel for how powerful the engine is.
