hm... I miss some small effects that would make it feel more powerful.
like when there is a explosion the camera could shake a little. depending on how big the explosion was and how lose the camera is. so when you get hit by a rocket or other weapons like that the camera should shake a little and when you fly close to a ship that explodes the camera should shake little more.
And it should be more noticeable with damages if you add a fire particle effect or something where you hit and get hit.
And when a ship almost is dead it should burn and leave a trail of smoke or particles behind so it looks damaged.
But over all.. nice work!... but the explo sprite is to common
