Hello everyone!

In my spare time, I'm trying to revive a "fantasy temple" style pack that I started years ago. But, before I get too far, I'm trying to decide on a "style" so that all of the textures fit together well.

My question is... which do you prefer?

A) Low Contrast

Or B) high contrast:

Your thoughts? One benefit of the low-contrast textures is that it's easier to make them high-contrast later on.

Thanks!
- Bret

i would do both since you can just adjust the contrast after you finish, i prefer the low contrast, it seems more 3d-ish

Sounds like I'll need to provide both. :-) I have a follow up request. If people have any suggestions for stone work, could you link to examples? My main problem is coming up with good stone designs.

For example:

@lostclimate

As far as I know he was in charge of Legendary Sword (that awesome GS game!) yes. But as far as I know production was stopped unfortunately, but would be one of many to love to see it be completed. Maybe if everyone....j/k

High contrast, but then again, it's easy to change the contrast via paintprogram, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. Looking forward to what's in store, the pics look pretty good.

most of us have software that can do the extra contrast anyways, so maybe you could probably just use low contrast pics, unless you plan to sell the texture.

To answer the question about the model...

Yep, that's from Legendary Sword, which is probably never going to see the light of day. However, I talked with Denny (from Dreams in Motion) and we agreed to sell the resources on Game Beep, including that model shown. The proceeds will be split up amongst the original artists. I'll keep you all posted!
