Finally after 2 years and 8 months, the River Bend Project finally sees a Demo! This is exciting indeed. The demo is very simple, and won't take much time to browse through the 4 levels, especially since youre severely restricted on where you can go. Very restricted. We definatly want any critiques good or bad, but the main concern is how the download goes, how the installer works, and how setup goes. If you get past that, we want to know system specs most of all. For this is a pre-test before people buy the full version when released. Please include overall performance level, plus: - Processor SPEED in MHZ or GHZ (not year make model , athalon 2100 means nothing to me) - Amount and type of RAM - Video card type and especially how much the card has. - Version of Windows youre using - Any other bugs, errors, or miss-spelled words. Please feel free to download the demo, it's 60 MB so be warned... You can get it here at the download page

The whole installation went smoothly for me But there were a few things I noticed. -The 'I' in 'i agree to the following terms and conditions' was not capitalized -The font that said 'Installation' should be italicized. I dont know why but it makes it look old and outdated. Dont ask me why, but thats what most people do. -I couldn't change the destination folder.

Unfortunately, the installation crashed unexpectedly. I have an updated Windows XP Home version, 1024 MB RAM and enough diskspace One suggestion, though, maybe you can write in the titel not "RBDemo" but "the River Bend project - demo release" or something else. Greetings, Christian

the installation worked perfectly fine for me. as already mentioned by towelie, the destination folder isn't exchangeable. i got windows xp, 768 mb ram, amd processor with 2,08 ghz, ati radeon 9800 pro (128 mb i think)
in the game, i noticed that strafing right was (sometimes?) faster than normal walking. also, when i passed the fence at the registration office, i couldn't look around anymore using the mouse. but when i went back and passed it again it worked.

The installation when fine for me to ^^ The game is nice but I have a few C&C: Good: The gun is very cool and creative. The movement is good but it can be smoother. The game idea in general is original. The models are oke. Could be better: The gravity, when I jump, I get the feeling that I'm being bounced down like ther is a wall above the player. Normally when you jump, you fall down faster then the momentum of your jump. In your gravity, the going up part and the going down part is been preform at the same speed. The textures are really blurry In the first level, at the end I can see your level changing block behind the space ball before entering it But completing a game is what not to many people can say so congratz BlueBeast !! Cheers Frazzle

@ Towelie I ran the installation and didn't see the lower case 'i' ... any text in the read me, or license can only be as a TXT file, so it all is the same, however its not different and bold so it looks much better THANKS! @Heelx yea just try and install again something about the installer i dunno... .... Also I changed the title as suggested @Endgegner Looking into the strafing thing... @ Cartoon Baboon yea they do get too close, lets see if we can fix that @ Frazzle The jumping is actually a jetpack, though I understand what you mean. Maybe we can do something with that if there's time. The textures are blurry, and the resons are many, mostly performance purposes. The level changing block was a late addition, and is now invisible. . . Ive also been told that people want to drive the cart... and also the levels are a little bare... well yea they are bare, especially the parts you saw. Overall in the game i think its a nice balance between bare areas and areas with 'stuff' in it. You'll get to see more later. The cart is drivable in the full game, and is very fun! Everyone here will have the chance to playtest the full game FREE not too long from now. There will be a Showcase 2 post in the near future, and you can download the finished game. No charge, no signup, nothing This was more of a performance test made available for download and on CD-rom for the resort. Keep the tests coming, and thanks for taking the time to check it out!
