Hello

I watched a movie yesterday night , the title was "21 grams"
It seems that in the instant a man is dying, he loses 21 gr weight
First of all
Is it true ?
If so, I do not think it is the weight of the soul and I assume also religious people dont' but what explanation ?

Experiments took place on this, but the results are not very scientific. In fact the experiments are almost the definition of pseudoscience (something "portrayed as scientific but diverges from the required standards for scientific work").

If you sit a dying man on a scale and measure their weight at their time of death, you will see a drop. But, if you sit a healthy man on a scale and measure their weight while they think about ice-cream, you will see their weight drop as well.

I'm not saying this proves their isn't a soul, or that a soul doesn't have weight, or anything like that. There just isn't any scientific proof one way or another.

Oh, in case you are wondering where the weight goes. Most of it is water vapor and other (not so pleasant) gasses. My pseudoscience theory of where that 21 grams comes from has to do mostly with those other gasses.

-->..ice-cream, you will see their weight drop as well.

so this means that too much ice cream will kill you?

-->..mostly with those other gasses

21g methan gas would be quite dangerous. Dont lit a match next to someone dead or you will be next
I wonder how they meassure this at all?
so whenever you hear a doctor say "just lay on this balance please and relax"... run forrest, run?!

there are a ton of very interesting books about those urban legends you can get. if you are interested in this trivia knowledge you should find some nice things in there.

and dont let anyone tell you this things are useless to know. you never know when you will be abducted by some aliens and brought to an intergalactic game show!

cheers

This is just a myth pure and simple. while someone may or may not loose gasses and so on during death, the idea thats its always the same amount and that it always happens is just silly.

Maybe if you die in the water and your cells suck water like a sponge

... or if a few hundret millions of insects enter your body ... but that is not your own bio mass.

Crazy ideas here in Hilbert's

Not sure if it's true, but I've heard about someone trying to burn a dead cow, which supposedly exploded a few seconds later. What a mess that have must been hahaha !!

Cheers
