I am using a dual core processor, but when I build my level it takes exactly the same time nomather if I use 1 processor or 2 processors.
The processor is a Pentium D 3,20 GHz and I am using Windows XP Professional.

Make sure that the processor slider in the build dialogue is set to the right number of processors.

Yes, like I said; it does not mather if I set the slider on 1 or 2 processors, the build time is the same.

Ok, then two CPU threads are indeed started. I don't know why it's not faster - maybe due to background tasks. Does this happen only with a certain project or with all projects? And when you use 1 processor, is then only 1 CPU reported?

This happens with all my projects.
When I am working on a project I have no other progams running on the background.
If I set the slider to 1 processor, it reports 1 CPU.

When you open the taskmanager during the building,
is only one cpu used or does the cpu load "jump" between
cpu one and two? Once this one, once the other one at full load?

Strange thing happens, when I open the taskmanager during the build both the cpu's are working on the same level (load about 50%).
But when I set the slider to 1 cpu to be used both cpu's keep working.
So now I have set the slider to 3 cpu's to be used, same effect and no expected error because I only have 2 processrs.
Now I beginning to think that it does not mather when you move the slider on what number of cpu's to be used, it always uses the number of processors availeble on the computer (unless ofcource I turn 1 processor off in Windows).
What do you think?

Frits
