Models can be exported to different formats so they could be used in other software - but that all depends on the format they use and how good the exporting/importing goes. Not sure about games and levels but I can't imagine games being transferred what with GS using the GS specific c-script as programming language.
I see, so once you are committed to one engine you are stuck with it. I've been looking at the game titles made with GS and most of them are kind of old, does that mean there are better solutions out there?

Also I think a lot of people use GS for creating quick demos of their game ideas to show to publishers as GS allows to create games quickly. Then once a contract is signed they might end up developing the game with a more expensive engine.
I see, so this business is almost like the record business. You make a demo and try to sell it. Who would do the programming after it's sold? The publishers?

publishers don;t make games. they publish , advertise and distribute a product. if the game ( or what ever the thing is your selling) looks promising enough the publishers MIGHT even help fund development. publishers set deadlines for release (no matter what the actial developers say they can/can't do in a specifid span of time)
