compaq armada e-500 500 MHz P-III, 256 MB RAM, 8MB Radeon Mobility chip i get 60+ fps with 2 light sources in a test cube at -w3d graphics settings (640*480, 16 Bit, a6.31) i seriously recommend you to start the engine with the -w3d command in 16 bits mode.
