yes, this can be done, and as DaBro0zar says it is quite messy. i cant recall how, because i avoid it since more skins cause a longer rendering time for the model (the whole model has to be calculated once for each skin, or something along those lines). i think it's something like going to edit->manage skins, then adding new skins. then with a bunch of polygons selected (for the head, for example) and the head skin selected, click "apply skin". then when u unwrap ur model's UVs, the head mesh will appear in the head skin. that should get u started. someone who actually knows what they're doing please correct me where i'm wrong  julz
