If you have experience with other programming languages, and a basic understanding of what 3d will entail - ie. models built in "modeller", scripts found in the main program, and the level itself as a container for the other items, you could try the "Kingdom Hearts" tutorial under Tutorials on the Acknex Unlimited resource page. I read that, followed the tutorial and found how to use the interface with only a little experimentation while following the tute.

The trickiest thing in the interface is that to find scripts you need to click the "right arrow" at the top left of the "Project" panel that defaults to the left of the level editor interface. This brings up the "Resources" tab, which contains a folder-level view, including all models, scripts etc. in your level.
It seems everything here can be previewed/ opened with a double click on the item.

The best way to learn the interface of 3D GameStudio is possibly to open a sample project from one of the AU magazines and look through the resources.

Don
have a great day

Crash2108: You said you've downloaded the workshop or tutorial, but have still no clue. So now the question is why.

I assume you understood that this is a game development system and you want to create a game. I also assume that you have basic Windows experience, for instance know what a folder is and how to copy a file. At this point you should tell us what exactly you do still not understand for walking through, for instance, the first lessons of the C-Script workshop.

Until then, all well-meant user suggestions here about where to click or which page to visit are obviously of no use for you. Starting with Gamestudio is easy for most people, but maybe there's still some obstacle that we need to put out of the way.

Hiya.

Ok. Lets try this another way. What have you read in the manual? How far have you gotten in the tutorials for it?

Reference Manual: http://download.conitec.net/3dgs_manual_e.zip
Game Design Tutorial: http://download.conitec.net/wed_tutorial_e.zip
-->Game Design Tutorial Level: http://server.conitec.net/gsa6/t6tut1c.zip
C-Script Workshop: http://server.conitec.net/down/cscript.zip

How much of those have you gotten through? Those give you the overall basics of how the engine works, what tools are included and how they work (Model EDitor, Script EDitor, World EDitor), info on how to write C-Script (the scripting language for A6), and a list of all the C-Script commands.

How is 'code executed'? "Code", or C-script in A6 (the engines scripting language) is saved in files with the extension ".wdl". The C-Script Workshop tutorial and the main Game Design Tutorial will fill you in on it.

OK, I looked at those. But I still feel pretty lost in the editors.

Im also starting to get annoyed at these programs because there isnt really 1 tutorial that will teach you how to use it. I have game design and the C-Script but i cant get the dumb level because the stupid username and password my teacher gave me dont work
