Very nice pictures, but I think the arms are too long and the colours of the karts are to bright besides the Map.

Alex =)

hummm...

Ok...

I´m remaking the karts / driver...

Edited :

I noticed something in my project..

Lets say that I "forgot" what I had learned about low poly / high poly and the effects under a game use of a model..

The kart models I was using were from when I started the project, and at that time I really didnt knew how to save poly for the video mem in game. So, I went to MED and saw : "5868 faces" XD ( without tires / driver / wheel )

Well..

I remade the karts entirely, and keeped only some parts of it, the better ones.

Now they count 1142 faces, the game runs smoother, and I think they are looking much better.

I tryed to achieve a faked chrome effect, even with static images being not so convincent, in game they really shine cool. I simplified a lot its geometry, there were too many parts invisible to the player present. I also get off all the faces the player will probably never see.

This are the first med preview shots :

I tryed to give some special atention to the little kart "panel", being this the part the player will see the most part of the game :

Will continue to work now

OK.

I just finished remodellind and reskinning the kart / drivers .

The result is a 1142 polys kart model, with skins reduced to 512 x 512. ( I had 1024 x 1024 before... )

I added more movement to the driver body, and corrected it´s arms and overall scale. The arms still look stretched, but its my view effect. I Like to drive this way in some games and reflects on my favorite drive position. But the scales, I´m sure they are ok.

I just took some in-game screenshots :

Well... Some little more adjusts to do, but..

Hope now its looking better.

I agree with the two... looking nice
Hey, one thing.. I believe you that the proportions are right. I haven't seen any side views of the new model, but I think the old player model's legs seemed weird. I can't tell why and what, even after thinking at it for some time. Maybe it's just the stills, and it looks better in game, or maybe I'm completely wrong... they just seem weird to me. Maybe the angles at which they stick out from the body? I dunno...
Great work though... I'm looking forward to a demo, too

Yes, Germanunkol.. I think something is really weird in that models... in fact, i´m not so good at modelling humans, and that driver was a nightmare to make. After made, I had to anime it, and it wasnt that easy, mainly because I didnt know how to do it. I play a lot a game called LFS, and the driver position is always with his arms very stretched ( you can customize it in the game ) and I feel very confortable driving that way. Maybe this made me see that stretched arms / legs like something normal.

My next driver will be more accurate.

Thanks for all the support.
