Prevent Lag

Prevent Lag - 10/13/08 18:18

Hi there,
please give me your tips about how to prevent lag - even when I have only 2 players (4 entities, 7 funct., small map) and just them running around, the clients lag like f***ing hell.
I've tried many experiments with those predefined variables and stuff, but nothing seems to work.
Input is done by client, moving done by server.
What do you suggest?/What is your way to prevent lag?/Which settings should be used?
Thanks and Greetings,
Sajeth

Now what the shit.
I tried nearly every possible method of transmitting data via build-in dplay and I more and more get the feeling dplay is complete bullshit.
The only non-lag method I got so far is setting dplay_entrate to 0 and playing via crossover.
Could anyone please make me a little demo game which creates a player for each joining client and makes them move around lag-free?
Thanks

Your right! And more shit is how it's built in GS! For example the DeathReckoning of GS could be programmed better from a 3 years old child wink

Best thing is to switch to a plugin. GSNET is a good and free choice wink
Or the best thing would be to program your own plugin!
