WHY???

Portforwarding? EVER HEARD ABOUT?
You have to open a specific port(depends on the one you use)
Sorry but this is the first thing to chek. If you have never heard about Router and ports, please read the basics first wink

And ofcourse your neighbour needs your external IP and not the one of your Computer inside your local Area Network.

Check this first and tell me wink

Hi, I enquired a bit about Internet everywhere and in fact I do not have address external IP, I have only one address local IP. I must call my provider to Internet so that it gives me an address external IP.

I`m not sure, but maybe that can help ( i never try it):
DynIP
Here you can give a Domain to a dynamic changed IP adress

yes I found this Internet site, but with DYN, all customers have to download DYN. Purpose I tries really. I have definitely one addresses IP, but she is not fixed.. Bloody....

Maybe your server has a fixed domain name? I'm not 100% sure but I think the domain name can also be used instead of an IP address. But first check if port forwarding works with your temporary IP address from whatismyip.com.

My neighbour having gone on holiday, I have try on my computers (not Internet computers but local computers) with my address temporary IP, but it does not work. Can be because it's local computers. I would make out a will to some of others with my address later temporary IP. I have tries DynIP, but I definitely did not understand how it works...

In 3DGS, my "server_ip" is my adress IP local...

I have tries with DynIP and DynDNS, but it's not good... ggrrrrrr..... My provider with Internet does not want to give me a fixed IP address and told me to see with DynDNS, but it does not work. Can be that I manage badly... But it is not normal that in 3DGS my "Server_ip" = my address local IP.

Finally, I succeeded in making work with DynDNS and my router... I had just forgotten to enter a parameter in my router.. It works in local computer with DynDNS therefore it shall have to work at my neighbour's...

thank you for your information... wink

I keep posted you if it works at my neighbour's (when he will come back from holidays héhé).... Thanks to all

Re: multiplayer d'ont work very well - 07/23/09 20:05

It is still me...!!! Check being a bit informed to me everywhere, my server is still not connected to Internet. I am going to explain you at best what I made so that it shall "have to " work...

- I opened a free count on dyndns.com (Myhostname.dyndns.org) by opening a hostname which I speeded up.
- I downloaded dyndns_client to write normally address IP of my router on my hostname
- I opened ports from 2300 at 2400 in TCP/UDP
- I put the command line options, to my server 3DGS, following: -nx 30 -sn Connexion -sv -cl -port 2350
- and I throw my client (session_connect ("Connexion", "Myhostname.dyndns.org")) but nothing takes place

WHY??? Whether it is 2 computers in local or internet, nothing works....

A resolution please!!!! Thank you!!!!!!

Anybody does not have answer?? Anybody did not succeed in linking a server on Internet and a client on the server??? lol To give the IP address of the router and to open a port the only things are not to be made, there is definitely something else to make so that it works!!!! WHAT?????

Re: multiplayer d'ont work very well - 07/25/09 09:50

it is still me, resolute problem, it was fair because I to try my hostname on local, and my router does not support NAT loopback... To try it in outside, it works very well...

Bye
