WED Resources - 09/29/06 08:08

World files and map files, what files will be placed here?
I thought that I could find the map entities in map files but they are in level files.

When you right click on a level file you see a menu; open and properties.
The last one shows the properties for that file but the first one, open, does not do anything. Is that a bug or what?

If you cannot open level files from within a folder (viewing the folder with MS Explorer) then WED is not "connected" to that file format.
To do so:
Click on: "Open with" and browse for the WED, then check the box "always open with this app" and hit ok.

But as Michael I do not understand your first question!

He is talking about the resources tab in WED....

WMB cannot be opened from within WED - use The run button of WED instead.
All other associations can be set in preferences.

Unknown extensions unfortunatelycrash on right click -> open... at least in A5. No idea how A6 behaves.

Firoball you are right, I ment the resources in WED, but let me refrase my questions:

1. What files will be placed in world files and map files?
I thought that I could find the map entities in map files but they are in level files.
2. When you click on open, nothing happens. Can't you open a level file this way? If not, why is this option there?

The .wmb files probably won't open, because they are already loaded in WED in your level ..

As for .map files, those are the Quake-format level files, that's why they are in the level files map .. However, it may be the case that on importing those, they will appear in the 'map files' part of the resources ..

Cheers

If that is the case, why is there an option to open the file. If you can't use it get rid of it then.

Your second answer leaves my question unanswered.

I thought I put my questions in 'Ask Conitec' maybe I get an answer by Conitec?
