A7 and Adware.Win32.Rabio - 10/02/07 17:57

Since today F-Secure Internet Security 2008 tells me that the gstudio_setup.exe from the A7 Version A7.05 contains the Adware.Win32.Rabio. This must be a false alarm (I hope at least )...

Gamestudio does not contain adware.

so I will send a 'false positive report' to F-Secure... (if they have not corrected it between)

it's not just F-Secure
* the screenshot from "Michael_Schwarz" looks like Kaspersky antivirus
* and I'm using G-Data AntivirenKit which also reports Adware.Win32.Rabio

jup
i have g data too and it says the same. and the biggest problem is that i can't download the new a7.06
g data stops the download (but only when the download ist compleeted) and i can't change the settings in such way that i can download it.
but g data antivirus says that its not-a-virus. so its not a bad virus its only a function that may be suspicious.

I'm sure you can switch off G_Data temporarily, download A7 and afterwards switch it on again.

Obviously some sequence in the A7 code looks like some adware program for those tools. This could go away with a new release with a little different code, but until then I guess the only solution is to send them many false alarm reports and suggest that they make their adware detection a little more precise in the future.

I got answer from F-Secure support:

Quote:

The file is not detected by any of our scanners using the latest database release 2007-10-04_08.

I have 2007-10-05-06, but always the error... I just will re-report them

With the latest database from F-Secure I have no longer that problem.

Mail from F-Secure
Quote:

We'll check the said file and include a fix on one of our next database releases.
