He's easy to spot. His feet are sticking out of the pot.

Re: Where is Doug ? - 07/06/08 10:30

Nah he is carrying the plate with fruits ... upside down! wink

But to be serious:
Haven't seen a post from him for a while, so I guess this is a just question.

Re: Where is Doug ? - 07/06/08 21:22

It's very easy to explain. He is trapped within a ultra slowed down section of the Time bubble that surrounds the San Diego Conitec HQ.

Re: Where is Doug ? - 07/07/08 07:08

How about really improving the Wiki instead of adding more and more bullshit?

Re: Where is Doug ? - 07/07/08 07:57

You won't hear much from Doug in the next time; George has taken over his template system development. I'll post more about that later. We're also looking for two more developers at the moment.

I'd also appreciate when users post more useful information to the Wiki and less time bubbles or "JCL Quotes".

Do I smell a shakeup at HQ?

Re: Where is Doug ? - 07/07/08 08:27

Well, the only thing is, that noone else besides me and broozar are adding stuff to the wiki - and letting that alone, I already added lots of useful stuff there.

what's wrong with jcl quotes? come on... it's not even on the front wiki page. even the valve wiki has something comparable.

I think his point is the signal to noise ratio:
Too much of the latter (jcl quotes) and not enough of the former (GS quotes)

If Mr. Doug Poston (sp) is indeed 'lost', than perhaps, a critical milestone was passed, with yet another unfortunate event.

In this age, maybe as a probe into a cloud of uncertainty and secrecy, users might have had to offer a prompt about an absence, where, maybe in the past, there seemed to be a greater sense of open policy, and with it, a stronger impression of honesty and integrity.

The question was "Where is Doug?"
Quoting jcl.

Did those words adequately answer the question for most?
Are most like pliable, every laughing and bouncing, flash instance jelly, a substance seemingly lacking substance, backbone and persistence.
Maybe Doug just didn't fit in with shadowy policy and modern, moronic, jiggling, giggling, mass.

It is solved promptly in the norm, as there is rarely a shortage of fast shepherds, willing to guide and shape for their own selfish purposes.

I also wonder why he is missing since months without a word. Hopefully nothing bad happened?

Does this mean he left, or he passed away?

Re: Where is Doug ? - 07/10/08 14:54

Don't worry. Doug is alive and fine. He just won't work on the templates any further. As a freelancer, he's currently doing other jobs for other companies.

Re: Where is Doug ? - 07/13/08 10:26

So the team just is jcl and the MED/WED programmer at the moment?

On the forecast page the percentages of the external tools are removed again and the map compiler which still isnīt production ready doesnīt seem to make much progress either. Are the programmers responsible for those things gone too? I hope you find new employees soon! crazy

Re: Where is Doug ? - 07/13/08 12:16

Compare to other tools company, why GameStudio team growing so slow? I just realize that some employees in the Credits page are quit Conitec.

Re: Where is Doug ? - 07/13/08 14:26

It looks to me, that the wiki becomes more and more just some kind of gossip blog around the "world of Conitec" instead of a serious source of tech knowlegde...

Re: Where is Doug ? - 07/13/08 14:46

They are developing Gamestudio with a hex-editor and an oscilloscope? :p

I was talking about the Gamestudio team and not the other part of Conitec.

Re: Where is Doug ? - 07/13/08 15:11

cmon old bill, where is your sense of humor? That was funny jcl comments, and a lot of people want to hear about conitec and see the offices,...me included.

Game studio is about entertainment, we cannot be all business all the time. Too serious people are just boring.
