Question about forcast - LiteC DLL creation - 02/02/09 11:46

In the forecast section of the website, we have creation of win32 dlls for lite-c listed. Will this allow us to wrap and export functions from the engine so that we can use in other languages? Also, can we have an ETA on this and if possible can it be moved to high priority?

Yes, you can then export functions to other languages; but no, it's not high priority. All the lite-C features listed are scheduled together for an not-so-soon update. Before that, there are features of higher priority, such as more and better game templates.

If you need a DLL very urgently, you can create one with any free C++ compiler, such as VC++ 2008 Express.

Thanks for your response, one last question. When it is ready, will it be available for the DX9 version of the engine (currently A7) or are you planning to move this feature to the next version of the engine (A8)?

DX9, certainly. We can't move to DX10 as long as a substantial number of PCs use XP. There are no plans yet for A8.

Thats exactly what I was thinking as I am still on XP. Once again, thanks for your response.
