Tell him to update his Vista to SP1, then SP2. Mostly this will solve his problem.

I wonder if someone is using Home Basic?? laugh

When it happens just when playing a video clip, the most likely reason is that the CODEC is either missing on his PC, or is damaged and crashes. Which CODEC does the video clip use? Can you send him a test version without video clips?

JCL : Have you ever come across anyone else who is using a Celeron with 3DGS before?
Is it a noticable handicap, and could it potentially be causing capanno's problem?

[EDIT]Just noticed this, doesnt look to good to me...

The engine runs fine. The clip is played once a player profile has been created.
I suggested a codec pack, which they downloaded with no success. Any other problems it might be?

No, my bet would be still the video. If it's not the CODEC, it could also be a damaged DirectShow installation. That can be fixed by installing a recent DirectX version.

But the first thing I'd do is sending them a version without video for making sure that it's really the video, and not, for instance, some problem with saving the player profile.
