panel butttons extended?

Will the panel buttons ever be extended to be sensative to rmb and or mmb clicks?
we can get the same effect using screen vectors & trace etc....but it is far less elegant.

Use a panel for that, instead of a button. Buttons are specialized, but panels can react on right and left button events. We can also add the middle button when this is desired.

I never knew that....back to the manual I go...
