anyone ever used Milk Bones? - 08/20/06 00:35

Hello,

I was wondering it anyone has ever used Milk Bones?
http://www.truebones.com/milk.htm

It seems like a handy tool for those who can't animate.
Though I have concerns on how well it works..

will the aniamtions all be blocky knees bending look all
distorted, etc?

If anyone has used this I would love to hear your experinces
with it.

also if you have to have a specific verion of MilkShape
to use it?
( I can only use version 6.5 on my computer for whatever unknown reason)

look forward to hearing everyone's respone,

I've been thinking about this, as well. I have fragMotion, so I'd be using it from there. There's also a new Cool Bones, but it's only available to current customers and adds another 185 motions. just substitute cool in place of the milk.htm and it should come up.

I can only assume that the result would be the same...
I mean between Fragotion and milkshape.
Either animations would be horrible or they wont.

Directly from Fragmotion... that must have flew right over my
head..

If it could be done and look nice using direct from Fragmotion
then heck I might buy both ( Fragmotion and cool bones).

but I would still like to hear from Existing users of
these "bone" tools.

It's in there...here's the line:

Quote:

Over 200 of the best motions ever created. Seperated and lined up for instant use in
FragMotion/GameSpace/TrueSpace or MilkShape.

...and from the Cool Bones page:

Quote:

Over 185 Brand New High Quality Motion Captures!

Now available in .BVH, and FragMotion Formats.

All of the other "Bones" packages(excluding Cool which is an extension of Milk) are for use in TS/GS where you can then export to fragMotion. The way this reads, you can open the skeletons for Milk/Cool directly in fragMotion, rig your model, and then export out to MDL7 from there.

My only problem with fragMotion is that the forum has mysteriously been taken down and the new 0.85 beta version taken down. The developer has taken on a new job in recent months and development has grinded to a halt. I just hope that whenever Conitec makes the new MDL7 format publically available(see Forecast for all the new goodies that are in beta) that Fragmo will update the MDL7 importer/exporter. I think I'll go email him right now and see if he'll do it when the time comes. If I get an answer I'll post it here. It doesn't get to the bottom of what the results of using Bones is, but it can help in software selection I assume.

Just found out the same about fragmotion.
I am really worried. To tell the truth, I rely in fragmotion so much that I stopped using MED at all.
