convex correction ? - 04/16/07 15:13

i have an arsenal of 3d editors gmax(downloading just now been a while since ive used it), 3dstudio, sketchup, wings3d, blender(too many buttons)

none of them can make my level, i make a level of convex blocks in sketchup to make my roads and export to .3ds and convert to .map with 3ds2map upon importing to 3dgs i get errors i get no errors if i add just a few cubes and triangles, i have checked all my blocks in sketchup and all are definetly convex or concave i cant remember but i can draw a line to each point without it going out of the model.

its a real pain to do all the time, are there any plugins for 3ds or gmax that can export a 3ds to .map and fixing it so its ready for 3dgs. also a real time saver would be the ability to just make my one big model and have a script devide it into convex shapes.

finaly got it figured out.

install gmax and the tempest plugin ( free )
import your .3ds
select all the model
tools>convert to editable brush
export as .map

when imported into 3dgs its realy realy tiny and needs scaling, any ideas as it gets kinda warped when i do it this ?

when you importing .3ds files you should see a dialog box, and one of the parameter is scaling the model
