Problems exporting and importing in WED/MED - 10/27/08 17:11

Hi,

We are trying to export parts or the whole of a city model from a .max file to WED.
So far the best result is exporting a selected block to ASE, but while importing it is noted that all textures of the original are going in to the exported file and the mapping gets messed up.

Any help on the best way to get the file from .max to WED would be appreciated.

Hey jigalypuff

I have the problem with .3ds and obj files.
For example I want to add the trash cane on my street in wad. In preview it is textured, when I start running to see it in game - the whole model disappears. So I think there will be the problem with textures for .3ds as well.

I only just now came across this thread. If any of you are still interested. I use 3ds max, and I just got my model into WED with just three simple steps. Export as .x (You need to get the PandaDXExport for max); Import into MED; Save as .mdl - Done. You will have to do all your bone manipulations in MED though. I just found this out and thought I'd share. Hope it helps someone.
