MED does not show fbx import anymore!!?? ,i used to import fbx with it
but now since i formatted and reinstalled everything MED does not show FBX import
anymore ,what the????

should do as always. are the FBXFiles dll's in your med_plugins directory ?

FBX importer is not included in A8 anymore(Dont know which version you use)

I think that the problem lies elsewhere because I have a "Model From FBX(2010)" menu entry in MED

v8.30.5 ,i use to have FBX there but suddonly gone ,dont know whats up now because
i used fbx for animated models from 3dsmax and imported into med and now after the
format and reinstall its GONE ,and i have been using this version for some time now
its not a newly downloaded version so no cant be removed from my copy..

and yes FbxFiles2010.dll inside med_plugins ,perhaps win 7 blocked it or something
med lists this imports:
model from ascii
bones from ascii
keyframes from ascii
append mesh from asc
append mesh from 3ds
append frames from asc
append frames from 3ds

odel from 3ds
model from microsoft x
model from milkshape
model from 3ds max ascii
model from wavefront obj
terrain from image

Or perhaps you need to install vc++ redistributables? You can look into med.log and find what is the log corresponding to FbxFiles2010.dll.

I can confirm that there is an fbx importer in 8.30.5

it must work, I just installed latest 3DGS to Win7, and FBX2010 is there. the reason is probably something like 3dgs_snake said.

Mm i think snake is correct since only difference is i have
not installed vc++ 2008 yet because i lost my vc files
..Its got te be whats wrong .thank you

I have the same problem. I installed GStudio 8.40 Trial on a new maschine today. MED DOES NOT show the FBX-Importer. The Dll is where it should be, the log-file gives the following "information".

Code:
load dll: med_plugins\FbxFiles2010.dll
Can't load library <C:\Programme\GStudio8\med_plugins\FbxFiles2010.dll>
System message #14001:
Diese Anwendung konnte nicht gestartet werden, weil die Anwenungskonfiguration nicht korrekt ist. Zur Problembehebung sollten Sie die Anwendung neu installieren.
error loading


EDIT/ Sorry, hit the submit-Btn. Anyway. FBX ist not correctly configured, I should reinstall. Did. Twice. Still the same. VC-Redistributables are up to date.

Any suggestions?

Really nobody? It would be very important for the 3D guy. Couldn't get the FBX-Importer in Med to show up. Possible bug?

I had the same problem, i found the solution : I found ! it was necessary to install the "Security Update for ATL Package
Microsoft Visual C Redistributable 2005 SP1 (x86) "(= version 8.0.59193).
