you'll definately be laughing , but it's the water from the templates. i just adjusted the fx-file a little.

the overall look is approached by using fog and blending the fog vertically on the sky_object

Re: environment test - 04/19/07 09:04

ah, interesting.

But how can you blend fog vertically?

If I got it right then this shader does no real reflection. It uses a cube-map instead, right?

Re: environment test - 04/19/07 09:16

nope, it does real reflections. thats why the moving clouds are mirrored. the sky is done inside a shader and thus you can put any values you want into the fog output. you can even create something like nebula clouds by doing some calculations, for example using sin/cos stuff and the vertex positions

Very interesting. Thanks for explaining. So it probably works only with the pro-edition of GS.

Re: environment test - 04/19/07 09:31

concerning the reflections , yes, or you have to use a dll for the render to texture.

I love this tool. I just tried to create a sunset / dawn scene:

Interactive game-editing is fun.

Indeed a nice tool to create nice looking environments !!
It's still in a WIP phase but I like it already

Nice work on the environment test, it's pretty flexible already.
