Re: "Kabus 22" Turk game - 09/19/07 02:38

it looks great keep going !

I have only on crits is about the fact your game is a way too inspired by resident evil one and two. Because I'm a big fan I see all the small reference but in another hand since you've gone so far in the game developpement I was asking mysefl why you did'nt choose to be more original. Maybe I4m over thinking and seeing resident evil everywhere.

Anyway really good game it's look very well done

Re: "Kabus 22" Turk game - 09/19/07 05:53

@Spike

By the looks of the gameplay (not the actual feel), but this game looks real nice and sturdy for a commercial release. I haven't seen many games of this quality produced commercially with the A6 engine and with everything that's included in this game it looks great!

Now I could see where you would be coming from if we were talking about Big Rigs or something, but not this. Name one other game commercially released with A6 that blows this out of the water (assuming this game really is made with the engine).

Re: "Kabus 22" Turk game - 09/19/07 05:56

i said stuff, not comercial game... but well, one would be 3d driving simulator. its older, but its well done and thus sold pretty well...

better looking stuff (canceled or not) include sebes RPG (forgot the name, sorry), sunset down and dark mountain...

Re: "Kabus 22" Turk game - 09/19/07 06:00

My goal wasn't to turn this thread into an argument. But for sakes of ending your scolding in a Showcase forum (cough cough).

You've never released a commercial game. You should congratulate those or do some mindful thinking of projects that come about with success. Just because this game doesn't fulfill your tastes, it may fill everyone elses on this forum! Do not discourage projects and dis on other peoples works.

And I was not including unfinished work. The hard part is finishing a game, not starting one! Now let us let this thread continue, if you want to continue this discussion please open a Morbius thread.

Re: "Kabus 22" Turk game - 09/19/07 06:06

yeah, true, but I wouldnt necessarily say it blows it out of the water, I'd actually say its on equal par, and the lighting in it is better than both sebes rpg, and darkMountain. I dont understand how they got all of the way through to the release and still never figured out that the controls suck..

first: how do you want to know what i finnished?

then: hey, he is posting stuff he had nothing to do with... and if you would have played it you´d know its bad.. but go ahead, say something.. everything you say is based on opinions, like everything i say. the difference is i actually played this crap months ago... and you?

Re: "Kabus 22" Turk game - 09/19/07 07:08

Gotta love translators...

We've seen this game before. The game looks great, but the controls really are horrible. Spike wasn't joking, it really makes the game unplayable, unless they've changed a LOT of things between releasing their (turkish language) demo from months ago and their latest retail version.

Anyways, the overall production values are really good (for an A6-engine based game), if only the control were better...

Cheers

Re: "Kabus 22" Turk game - 09/19/07 07:16

Hmmm... I think the first have nice combo moves, yes... but the models look like resident evil 4 or Im on wrong way? soo and the texture too... so only the script are selfmade.. what a good achievement -.-

Re: "Kabus 22" Turk game - 09/19/07 07:16

I've seen the videos and the screens - WOW! Great work!

Could you post a link to the demo (or teach me turkish? )
Will there be an international (english) version of this game?

Congrats, mercuryus

Re: "Kabus 22" Turk game - 09/19/07 07:52

I need to say something here-
just because resident evil is the top zombie game out there does not make any other one a ripoff of it!

Its so retarded I'd like to strangle those that keep comparing them, its like saying all platformers are ripping off the mario franchise, no they are just in the same genre.

Re: "Kabus 22" Turk game - 09/19/07 08:17

(related not to spike only but a lot of us)
It's always the same here in this forum - everyone thinks "he is the best".
If an other one do a great job (either way) there are some spit on that grudged.

[sorry to be offtopic but some of you are soo childish!]

Very well-done cut-scenes, scripts, animations and models.

I personally dont like the gameplay and the low-res-look but I admire the huge amount of work.

Congratulation!

Re: "Kabus 22" Turk game - 09/19/07 08:19

Yep, I think it's a smart decision to make a game based off of a very popular games style, thats like putting money in your pocket. Alot of people in the industry do that, In EVERY genre. It's jus good business. If everyone remembers correctll, people had a serious problem with the game controls on the first few Resident Evils, and Tomb Raiders. People hated the controls, but they learned and slowly began to make them better.

If the game play is not fun, then it's a waste of nice visuals, and solid coding. But guess what? MOST games that come out have crappy game play, so it's nothing new. When my game comes out, people might hate it.. It's jsut a part of life

Re: "Kabus 22" Turk game - 09/19/07 08:56

@Mercuryus: I know you mean all well and stuff, but eventhough the movies, art and ingame textures and stuff are (near) top-notch, you should try their demo. It really is quite unplayable, gameplay-wise it's also a bit too unfair the way the enemies react. The presentation is really good though, I hope they'll fix the control problems.

Here ya go:
http://www.k22dosyalar.com/k22_demo.html

(PS. The Resident Evil comparison probably has to do with the style both games have, not so much the fact that both are horror games. Still you are right, this is not really like Resident Evil, eventhough it bears some resemblance to it.)

Re: "Kabus 22" Turk game - 09/19/07 09:12

Very nice looking game. Looks Art and Gameplay look polished,
and not overloaded with effects that will make it run slow.

I also like that your team did not use the stereotypical US-American
elements, and based this on characters with turkish background.

good luck with the marketing.

Re: "Kabus 22" Turk game - 09/20/07 07:44

Judging the videos it makes a quite good impression and finishing a game to commercial release means a huge amount of work.

On the other side there are some heavy critiques about the gameplay.

I'd say I'm from the "old gaming school" where there was no possibility for today's graphics and games had to be well due to gameplay and I dsilike that nowadays games are more and more judged by eye-candy and not gameplay.

It was quite hard for me, too, as I realized that many people had problems with the Dragonrise controls since I had not the feeling that they were difficult, but they were oldschool and people simply seemed to not know those kind of game control or did not expect console control style on a PC.

However I listened to the critiques, wrote the down and thought about how to improve it and now I hope they feel better in the comming up demo.

But I think that's the workflow you should have, create something, let people test and judge it and then react on what they say.

I will not judge the controls now since I have not played it, but I will not argue against spikes or someone else's oppinion without havin actually testest the gameplay, and so should you, too.

Re: "Kabus 22" Turk game - 09/20/07 17:19

It does say something about this community, but trust me, there are some dutch forums I visit and those are much much múch worse in terms of zero-tolerance and weird stuff. The kind of forums where they will ban you when you forget to write a '.' after every sentence or when you use abbreviations that people don't know about.

Opinion: Game one of the best created on 3DGS, plus is my favourite genre smile Has passed 3 times wink

PS Excuse that has lifted an old theme, it has simply turned out to buy game just now.
