The Emo Chronicles: Razor for my Valentine (WIP)

the game is slowly progressing because I am in lots of trouble with other stuff. Don't think it is dead. I'm just heavily working on the code and since code is not that beautiful than new screenshots, I apologize. Though, you will see that trixie b1tch soon again in full bloom :P

Since this is/was/will be a frequented thread, I post my offer here: I like to have somebody beside me as second programmer for some tasks I *would* do on myself, but I haven't the time budget for.

I am looking for a smart boy / girl with experience in Lite-C/C and A7 for Razor for my Valentine. With a passionate team, creative concepts and ackwardly innovative things, we will rock your a$$ this summer with really bloody entertainment.. for everyone! Join us! Now!

German or fluent english speakers are preferred with positivity about communication (IM, e-mail, VoIP) and general game development cycles. Please send me PM's or an email with some short lines about who you are, how much time you have, what you would like to do and what you are good at. There is enough room for every team member to perpetuate himself / herself somehow in the game. No twinkies for bad guys, but bad girls :P

I like the graphics in the game.. p.s. emos are not race,only sick people who need help..

I personally think it is a waste of time and effort, what is a pity because the screens look wonderful (except the blood involved) and are worth to be the base of more serious projects.

I think it is worth to take some time to think about what sort of general meanings a game represents and what sort of joy it offers.

Thanks for your oppinion, Pappenheimer, but I fully disagree with you in here, maybe because you are not included in my main target group of players. I really don't want to discuss the goals I want to achieve with this yet, because I haven't revealed the game in full detail yet. With everything I do (on my own) I hope that I do something unique and something, that people enjoy. Wether it is something like RUDI or something really new in some terms like Razor for my Valentine. "Think out of the box and create something unique" is IMHO very valueable and as long as I don't go commercial I am free to do whatever I want and I see potential in.

I hope you understand that.

[EDIT] I read that article and I don't see any cons associated to this game.

On topic: I am still looking for programmers.

Lol... :p Good point, for this reason I've changed my latest project a bit, at some point I went beyond over the top with it's violence and so on..., while my main audience was supposed to be aged 16-30 or so and 'non-freaks' :p .

Basically it became too violent for the younger audience and too much graphically childish-looking to really appeal to the older crowd I'm looking for. Now it's much better balanced for a broader audience, it doesn't mean I had to really change the design or overall idea either. I only toned down the violence a bit,

there was a long silence about the Emo Chronicles now. There were several reasons for this like regular life, paid projects, our girlfriends, university/work and so, but we are not dead. The project is too promising that we would let it freeze.

We presented on the Dusmania 10 a trailer for the game which I now uploaded on YouTube so that the whole world can share this.

It's in the nature of an emo to feel offended ... even if the game would deal with big trucks driving through the scenery (I'm wondering whether such a game exists... ^^)

Beautifull game.

The Blood splash on camera is too much i think.
Your game theme is not horror or Dooom 3, and this splash on camera is annoyaing and reduces visiblity during some seconds.
It' like playing mario galaxy and having splahes of blood on camera each time you kill a monster.

Why not trying green blood (turnable into red in options for mature people), and some coins each time you kill to purchase better weapons ?

Putting into consideration that I am in fact the "protagonist" (or rather antagonist) of this game here, I don't care! So if "Blade" feels offended by this game, remember that if *anything* it's offensive, it's me, and I don't care. I really don't.

Hey, it is nice to see you discussing the game and it's message. And maybe this is why we are making this game.

I can't promise you a demo yet, because this is more a side-project. But if you'll like to join us, we could accelerate the development (hint, hint!).

BTW: this will be freeware.

Yeah, it's strange that somehow freedom of speech, creativity and parody/comedy and what not has to compete with people suing people because they think they 'got offended'... whatever the hell that means. Most of them are just jealous and want money.
