@Gamesaint762:
Start the demo using the .bat file. Starting the exe directly didn't work for me too, but the .bat file works.

Re: Jungle - 06/17/08 17:17

~ 25 FPS average with Pentium 3.0 Ghz HT w/ 2Gb Ram , GeForce 7800 GS 512 Ram.
I had about 465 entities visible at once in some places which gave me the worst frame rates (~ 19).

In my opinion, the ground is much too light (especially the grass and shadows),
and the sky is a little too dark. Also the vegetation is a little too light and
mostly the same color. These things create low contrast and a washed out look.
But maybe thats what your after?

I think the difference in the first pic is that the albedo of the entities is set to a high value, about 90 or 100.

Dear friends,
Thank you very much for your participation.
@Quadraxas;It's(first picture) just unlit flag and no material ambient. Yes it's look good but it's darkness. Anyway, at present i am studying for jungle. It's not finished for me. smile
@Grafton;You´re right. Thanks for your idea.

Thanks again, friends.

good job!

Re: Jungle - 06/29/08 14:42

the water's a little "empty", but as you're still working on it, I'm sure that'll change.

I miss different sized trees. they're all pretty much the same height as far as I can tell.
also, what's with all the black spots on the terrain??

other than that: wow, great work!
smile i like the look of the whole project smile

Re: Jungle - 06/29/08 17:09

Very nice and as a WIP this has a lot of potential. Keep up the good work.

My fps is at 32 on average with my AMD Athlon 3800, 2.4 Ghz, 1GB RAM. Smooth enough and my machine is about 3 years old.

Also the ground of jungles are made up of dead and decaying leaves so if you change the green land texture to that it would certainly make the jungle more..um...jungle like smile

As I said above you need to open your own thread in the right forum sections and not making posts in other peoples thread.

The cause that you just ignored my post above makes me say that this is your first warning.

Yo mister... You're constantly hi-jacking threads. Start a thread for your own questions, don't post them in other people's threads!!

Thank you Poison.
And Demo is here

Re: Jungle - 09/05/08 13:02

Very nice smile
How did you do the shore?^^

And some things I want to mention are that those shadows(?) on the terrain are a lot too dark, you should use clipping for the refraction and there seems to be something wrong with your specularity :P Another thing I don´t like is the groundtexture of the sea.

Very nice is the underwater effect and I am curious on how fast this will run with the next gamestudio version :P

But really this is already some great work :P

Re: Jungle - 09/05/08 18:15

Thank you Slin.
I take "shore effect code," from "Loopix's water shader"(Mystymood) and i changed it a little.
And i use nvidia ocean shader(for vertex wave animation)
and i use Oliver's refraction code for refraction
and Conitec's floor mirror shader for mirror
and projgrid for sun light;

or;

Yes terrain is dark, i will correct it. Shadow is ugly, because terrain is very large.(65535H&V) I can't correct it. frown
Look,this is Island Demo's shadow map;

and this is Jungle demo's shadow map;
It's cool because it's not large.

I will change groundtexture of the sea. Maybe i use "sand texture" for next demo.
Thanks again and sory for my bad speak english.

I especially like that ocean shader in combo with the adapted shoreline smile smile
Good work wink wink

Re: Jungle - 09/05/08 19:04

I didn't play the demo but on your screenshots, the color mix is realy weird.
The clade of the palms look like they are lit by a yellow light, but the house reflects white light ^^ The Ocean is much too blue and the terrain grass texture much too green. All in all you mixed up too much "strength" colors. Try to adjust them more. Use FarCry/Crysis as reference and look how the colors are adjusted there.

It looks like you put a lot of work in this thing, so keep on working and *thumbs up* so far wink

Re: Jungle - 09/18/08 12:02

How did you do that??? I put 500 tree on a scene and the frames drops dramatically. And how did you put the grass wrapping the ground like that? Is it mdl format or sprite??
