Pantharay - 01/31/09 00:47

Hello friends,
I open new title because long time has passed.
My Project’s code name is:Pantharay
One Adventure/Fps.
I offer you now demo
I write some notes which can be curiosity;
I started my Project with c-script and now I use lite-c
I used Newton 1.0 for physical motor now I use 0de
I adapted old Newton mould to ode.(you can download here basic version)
You will be in interaction with all the thing in game.

I used these materials,shader and effects:
*Grafton's Projective Mapping Shader
*Matt aufderheide's shader (Massive shader collection)
*Taco Cohen's shader (Massive shader collection)
*Slin's shader(Depth of field)
I did Depth of field dynamic. it changes it's density now that you and your focal point.I hope you like.
*Old film effect is Ello’s

There is no credit necessity in my sharing but I will write names on credits screen.I will write some people’s nickname because I don’t know real name.
I mind your sight and proposal.But while writing your proposal , please remember that I did this game alone.if I struggle to do perfect game,my life isn’t enough.

Video;

And Downloads Playable Demo;

looks awesome. and a lot like penumbra. xD but neat physics, how did you manage to get that cloth effect done?

Very nice. I love that tarp effect. The movement in the demo is a little weird but still very cool. Good Job

@Emre:
Mukemmel,

Tekrar, cok iyi olmus.

@all:Sorry for the language, i kinda said what i liked, and asked how he achieved clorh-like physics.

Re: Pantharay - 01/31/09 09:24

The video is impressing.
The demo is too dark in my opinion.
The art is a bit exaggerated.
Try to use more understatement.
The story is a very common theme, therefor you should look for an author who can tell a unique story with details that tell an individual fate.

By the way, ask a native English speaking person to write the drawn text.

I guess that you are lonely wolf developer, but you should collaborate, and I think because of your skills you will find some who are willing to work with you.
Probably, the biggest barrier is the language.
Keep up your work, it looks really promising!

BTW, Pantharay refers to "pantha rei" = "everything flows" of Heraklit?

wow, Great work its looking really nice and atmospheric. If you spend time and develop this into a proper game Im sure it will turn out great.

Re: Pantharay - 01/31/09 17:44

This is another game that I think you could easily sell to Novint for use of their Falcon controller once it's complete.

The use of physics and you shader work make this a very nice game indeed! Looks great!

I agree with the above, that you should look for developers to help you, you really could have a great game!

Hi Emre.

Nice screen shots and demo. I found the demo really dark though and when the ceiling is falling you could add roll action to the camera also.

I sent you a PM.

cheers,

Re: Pantharay - 02/01/09 17:37

@achaziel,@quadraxas
For the cloth-like physics of the plastic cloth, i used 25 spheres.
And i connected spheres using hinges.
And connected them to bones of the cloth.

And Quadraxas, im glad i made you scare smile , my goal was to create a nervy atmosphere
and i think i achived my goal.For the little problems you pointed out, ill work on them.

@Pappenheimer, @ryangregory, @Bluebeast
Thanks for your valuable input.
I'll find a solution for language problem.
Even if the story contains a lot of common themes, it has a unique structure in itself.
You will see that when the game is completed.
In fact, i didnt write this story for the game. I already have my story, what iam trying to do is to move it to a 3d world.
I'd rather not making a game over making a game with another story. smile
I like working alone but i know that working with a team will be veryhelpfull. But for now my language problem is a big obstacle for me to work with a team.(My friends always makes translations for me.)
@Pappenheimer
I dont want to talk about the meaning of the Pantharay yet.
If i still use this name when the project is over, at the end of the game
you will have some ideas about the meaning of the Pantharay.

@Bluebeast,
Another thanks for the info about Falcon Cotroller.

Thanks for all comments!

Hey @DC9, i did read your message now. Thank you very much for your help! smile
