little forceField demo - 07/24/06 10:15
this came out while i was checking out an idea i had. nothing spectacular but quiet nice so i just thought to share it, maybe you like watching it too
download ~1.3MBbtw, imagine that twice this hits the performance limit of 3dgs. thats a little sad

Maybe reduce the vertex count and scale the effect. I know this is about having a lot of vertices but you can use two force fields then.
Code?

Re: little forceField demo - 07/24/06 10:39
well, i am using sprites. i tried using mdls, but the fps dropped below the half, at the same object count. yo , well, i cant reduce vertices here...
code? well, its nothing special. i am using an attractor and the sprites direction is calculated relating to the camera and the attractor position
wow its so pretty, i really like this effect..
i like how it looks on the screen. though, i doubt that my graphics card will be able to handle it

beautiful

kinda fits the music i was listening to when i saw this.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eqgP7afPxFUthat's what i call "tool-ish". such things like your force field always remind me of tool (a band, if you didn't know ^^)... their artwork, videos, atmosphere... at least what i get when i listen to their music
