In about 2 days, I am releasing a new A.I.
It comes in 2 versions:

basic: Free for download

includes: Pathfinding, Hunting, Plays 5 different
death animations and attacking.
Plays pain animation.

Gold: $19.99

includes: Pathfinding, Hunting, Plays 5 different
death animations and attacking, melee, ally A.I,
crouching at certain times, and hiding/shooting
at same time, pain animation and Cinimatic
Script (Used for Doing Realtime cinimatic
shots for game).

This AI is meant to be used with FPS's only.
Works with A5 not A6.

The Zombie code is available on the gold
and free one.

In the demo, there you will be in a room,
there will be a bunch of zombies, they follow
you, they are not coward, and bite you to death!
(*;;;*)
it all supports 4 attack animations, 4 death animations.

in gold edition, heck, you will love and die for
it! Im working on a code for the zombie so that
when you shoot it's arm or head, the pieces fall
off! lol.

when it reaches a ledge, it jumps down or when it
sees you, it jumps to you just to freak you out.

You could help out on the ai, add more code to it
to make it better by signing a contract. You get
a free copy of gold edition for a year, until it
is all upgraded with new features.

cause my ai gets new updates every month, $1.25 bucks.

I was getting my computer suped up
now my computer is duel processors
amd athlon mp 1.5 ghz each plus i got
one of those see tru panel cases with
liquid cooling system, anyways back to business.
because of my computer being gone, i could not
work on the AI. So Im working on it now

When I get the A6 engine, Im gonna work on a
very complicated project.

-Ever seen the ragdoll effect in UT 2003?
where when you kill a person and he falls,
he reacts to the enviroment. I think it's
possible to script. I have to figure it out.

I think the possible way to do this is with the
physics engine using the model's verteces.

-for example,

The vertexes for the knee, elbow, neck, head, feet, hands all rely on the physics engine.

when you kill the enemy, The script will then
act on the vertexes using the physics engine.

like on UT 2003

its still in development but im releasing
some code so you guys could see what im including
in this new ecxiting NEW AI.

The Script im releasing is a little sample
of the Ally Script

A friendly entity who helps you out in battle

Since This is a little demo from the ally script
which is currently being worked on

1. The ally will not follow you
2. May have problems with engine crashes
3. Does not have all the features in the ai

the script works perfectly.
all you have to do is assign the action to your
ally. If you want your ally to attack, Make shure
the flag1 is checked in your enemy action and insert a number in the
skill 9 section.

remember! if you dont check the flag1 and insert
a value in skill 9 in your Enemy Action
actor_walk_fight or anything like that, your
ally wont attack it!

plus+ if you shoot your own ally, it will fire
at you

Hey ChrispiZ, tried it out and found it would
only work on robots directly created and its
blown away my level .wdl files so now I'm
getting heaps of empty pointer probs even though
I've removed all refs to your AI.
I've got A6 Comm though so I'll try it on my old
copy of A5 and see what happens.

ChrispiZ, be glad to help out as I'm only going
to use A6 for tests now and stick with A5 untill
the A6 updates arrive.
I had probs with ent_creat actors even though I
placed the skills and flags in the AI codes I was
using,
e.g. DWwander and AI_Aggro.
The 'empty pointers refs other scripts not yours.

In about 3 hours, I am posting a new
Ally Script. All fixed and free to use.
The New Ally A.I will now follow you.
When you stop, the ai will stop in a certain
distance and search out for enemies to fire at.
When you move away, It will continue on
following you.

Ok! Here it is. This is just the beta
for the free edition of the AI. It is
bug free. There is one little problem tho,
when there are no enemies near by, it will
shoot you. Make shure there is always an
enemy near by so it wont shoot you. The
AI will follow you wherever you go like
on Halo.

Well, I've been having lots of fun with this script but the only way at present that I can get the 'Ally to not shoot the player is this;

ChrispiZ, I can get it to work as you want except that it crashes in the wait state after a little while due to a conflict in attack and wait states.

ChrispiZ, the crashes only happen when I changd aspects of allyfight to get the bot to shoot enemies and follow the player.
Every time the bot comes to the player and goes into the wait state it crashes on anin dist "wait"
Then to avoid that , no matter what I do, it reverts back to shooting the player.
I dont think I can do anything with it but I do think the solution is to change the 'identifiers to recognise 'player' as the one to follow unless 'player' shoots it.
Its too good to let up on, so I'm going to keep pluging at it in my spare time.

Rhaurc, It includes a pathfinding system
in all versions (basic, silver, gold).
The pathfinding system uses nodes to find
the player in the quickest possible way.

has some bugs that i need to solve.
I also working on the tech demo for the AI.

Im about almost finish with the AI.
The Zombie Code is pretty awsome!
They use nodes to track you down.
The Zombie code isnt just for zombies,
its actually a melee script. You
just include the model and the animations.
animations will include:
walk, run, attack 1, a2, a3. Die1, d2, d3
stand.

you wont need the jump and duck animations because:
its nonsense. Zombies dont friggn jump and duck.

The ALLY CODE is still having problems. If I dont
get it to work right, Im gonna release the
3 versions of AI without it. Of course the basic
is free **FREE** but the silver and gold is not.
Since Im maybe not including the ALLY AI due
to technical problems. Im lowering the price
of the silver and gold.

Right now im testing out the nodes.
And alot of other important stuff.
The zombie script is amazing. We did some tests
with the script. We made a huge level and put
like, i say 15 model entities and included the
zombie_melee action to them. It worked like a charm. When you go up the stairs they still track
you down because of the nodes. Right now
im adding blood effects. To the zombie code.
When it bites you blood gushes out of its mouth.
It makes it look like your getting a beating badly.

For fun, if you want. You could try out the
Ally Script. Just scroll down and you will see it.

Team/Ally AI is actually pretty easy to do- I could pop it in there with some pathfinding for you, but I wouldn't be able to do it for free as I'm working full time and am very tight on time. A small kick of royalties would be good enough.

Something weird happened with my computer, and im sure it probably happened
to other people. When i was compiling and testing my level with the ai, just right when it finished compiling and i ran it, My computer restarted by itself and i found out i had a hardrive failure. I went back to see if the ai was ok but apparently one of the files got corrupted! But no worries here, i could re write it. I got the tutorials and everything ready (documents) just when this happened! I will release the manual i wrote tomorrow just to let you guys get a glimpse of how easy it is to use the zombie code.

but luckly all my files are still there
just have to rewrite one of them

i don't know about kicking him out, he probably had high intentions of releasing the code but something happened or it got to hard for him.. alot of people have done this before..i'v seen projects get started then canceled due to it being to hard or to busy with other projects..

Too bad. I just read this forum and got the one code presented. Oh well. I gave up on many projects, but I didn't have people begging for them! This guy could have made some serious $$$. What kind of dude passes an opertunity to make serious cash. I think we all learned a lesson here. When someone offers money for your work, FINISH IT AND FILL YOUR WALLET! I would not have made this mistake.

it's more complicated than that FoxZero my man.. ai could be a hard project, so it will need lots of encouragement and people begging to actually finish it sometime. and it's not like you have a deal for 1000 sales right away. You work knowing you might end up finally finishing the project in a year from now, and then have zero sales or something.. And anyway, it would realistically make lots of sales to make up for all the work you've put into it for a whole year

That zombie code is just your basic usual "follow the player around and attack code".....its listed all the time in the AUM magazines so its nothing special..... You can easily modify to do better things and other have other AI states.

Dude I've had 3DGS for years and I understand how complicated projects can get. This dude had plenty of encouragement and people begging for his code. Judging by how many people wanted it he could have made a hundred bucks right away. If the code was good the owners of the product would be boasting about the product in the forum. That's free advertisement. If the code was bad... he still could have made some money. Oh well. Not my problem lol.

Many Ai projects out there had many encouragmenet at first, cause obsiously this community needs an Ai done, but when they were done they didn't had the sales they were expecting.. At least, that's what I'm guessing since all the Ai projects for Gstudio are pretty much dead now..

Anyhow, for all it's worth, I'm gonna give it a try on the Ai thing and see how it goes. It's been 4 or 5 months working on it and I still haven't given up, so this just might actually get completed someday, we'll see:)

tried to just the last second before creating the bullet check if the player is standing in the bullets path and if so then don’t shout. Create a trace in the entities direction and after that if the you != null && you == player don’t create the bullet. even if there is an enemy but the enemy is standing behind the player the ally wont shoot. that would be an improvement? wouldn’t it? ^^

(never looked if the problem was solved because there was to many posts.)

this poets nearly maid me want to create a total AI package for zombies and outdoor creatures with real life... like in the stalker game. and implant some of that stuff to the zombies so they really walking the earth looking for food.. >;] killing all living. is there any interest in a code like this?... (i did not meant to steel the thread or something... just a quick check.. )

one more thing.. i was thinking about all this stuff with AI systems and really implanting them to a game...
There is that many different games out there and I don’t think that many of them is using the A5 or A6 templates. So how will all the damage and damage system work?

One way is to create a system that simply just support the template script but that can be really bad if people want to have an own game system.

Another way is to first looking around and find a really grate game system for damage and shots and melee attacks and then implant that hole system to your AI script so you have a simple code for picking up weapons and a weapon code that can easy be modified without scripting like the template system. And all the code should be well commented and at the beginning or the end there should be a text explaining how it all works and tell what parts should be edited if you wanted to change that and that. And tell how to use the system to your own code. Ex explaining that for example the gun pickup code looks for the player all the time so the player action does not have anything with the pickup action and stuff like that.
And then create the AI code to this system and then with help of a flag in the engine make it to the A6 template so you can use that system if you would like that.
And also you should be able to change the AI easy. For example some enemies maybe checks for edges thru a trace instruction. But if all enemies is doing that maybe the fps would go down so you can turn stuff like that on and off. Maybe your lvl is maid of terrains and don’t have edges. Then it is useless to check for them?
(short version of what I wrote here)
Create an own “template” system and describe how it works and make it easy to change with and without code. And then ad the AI to that whole system.
