Fonts with effects

Fonts with effects - 04/14/11 16:38

Hello,

After using a few font generators including conitecs I can create some ok fonts but nothing unique or with cool fx.

I've bought font packs to use but they all seem to be flat and lacking in quality. Since I'm making a game that
requires different fonts I thought I would ask if anyone had any cool fonts with effects such as emboss etc or would share
how to achieve these effects.

I can use artweaver, gimp, etc.

I had a look around the forum and found one or two fonts including the kursiv font which is the best I've found so far.

best regards,

Rob

Use Harry Potter's "Font Generator", use the Forum Search or A7oogle to find it:

You could use my font generator.

Download: TMW Font Generator V1.10

If you want to add some additional effects you could save your font bitmap (TGA bitmap). Then you could use your font bitmap as a mask in a paint program to add another background picture for your font.

Or you can add some other effects like an emboss or a blur effect.

- select a free font from http://www.dafont.com/ or an other source.
- install the font and make a bmap with the font generator.
- u can use photoshop or gimp to emboss it easy afterwards

thanks for your responses.

I have created a few tga and bmap fonts and will have a go using masks etc.

Harry Potter, what program did you use to add a new image inside the fonts?

again thanks,

Rob

I used Corel PHOTO-PAINT. But you can also use any other paint program.

With my TMWFontGenerator I just saved the font as a TGA picture (with alpha channel!). Therefore I selected the graphics format '32-bit targa (TGA) with transparency'. Then I set the font transparency (tab 'Colors and effects') to 100% and the background transparency to 0 %. The result was a font bitmap with transparent letters/characters.

Then I used Corel PHOTO-PAINT to copy this TGA picture into another background picture (a photo or something else). I just used copy and paste. And because of the alpha channel the color of the letters/characters was replaced by the background picture.

best regards,
Thomas

First create a font, then create a style:
